The Bf 109 G-4 is one of the first models of the G series (G-1 to G-4) and is distinguished by its distinctive operational use, including its use as a photo reconnaissance aircraft in some cases. When not equipped with cameras, it can serve as a medium-altitude fighter by being equipped with various optional configurations such as R1-R3, as well as R4 (fuel tank), R5 (MK 108 gun mount), and R6 (MG 151 gun mount). Based on extensive research of the real aircraft, this kit faithfully reproduces the G-4 in R6 configuration with underwing MG 151 gondolas and Trop filter for desert use. Although produced in limited numbers for a short period of time, the G-4 played an important role in the transition to the G-6 variant.

Engine, propeller, armament
The smooth, flowing aerodynamic design of the Bf 109: the key to its speed and agility.
The inverted V-type liquid-cooled 12-cylinder DB 605 engine had a compact cross-section, allowing for an elegant body shape. The inverted V cylinder arrangement allowed the weapons to be mounted close to the pilot's line of sight, increasing firing accuracy. The nose armament consisted of two MG 17 7.92 mm machine guns mounted in the upper fuselage. The engine-mounted engine gun was upgraded to the powerful MK 108 30 mm gun on later subtypes (G-5 onwards).

The cockpit of the Bf 109 retained a three-piece structure until the mid-production G variants: flat windshield, side-opening central cockpit and fixed rear section. In the first G-type models, the cockpit was upgraded to a pressurized structure and airtight seals were applied to all moving parts. Standard equipment also included bulletproof glass, providing thicker and more rigid framing for both the front and center cockpit sections. Inside the cockpit was a fuel status control pipe extending from the L-shaped 400-litre fuel tank located behind and below the pilot's seat. The Bf 109's wings were of a conventional cantilever design, with the main spar fixed to the fuselage and automatic leading edge ailerons. Starting with the F model, the radiator fins were enlarged and redesigned into clamshell-style outlets that act as cooling vents for airflow through both the fin and the radiators. Split-type ailerons could operate independently or in conjunction with simple ailerons between ailerons. Messerschmitt Bf-109 is a German single-engine fighter aircraft with a classic tail, low wings and a metal body. II.
