Hobbytime Review
This product, which is released by Welly as a model with superior workmanship and 1st class material quality, is preferred by modelists and collectors in terms of price performance.
In May 1974, Volkswagen introduced the first generation Golf as the successor of the turtle model.
Like his predecessor and ancestor, the Golf MK1 proved that he would be permanent and populated. With its uninterrupted production since 1974, golf has succeeded in being the first of the front -wheel -driven compact (hatchback) models that have achieved a wide range of success. In the USA, Morris Mini, Honda N360 and Fiat 128 have achieved a limited success, while the Golf, called Rabbit, Honda Civic, just like the turtle in the 1960s, Falcon and Corvair, the semi -compact vega and pinto in the 1970s, as well as the Dodge Omni Omni, Dodge Omni, Dodge Omni Plymouth Horizon, Ford Escort and Chevrolet Cavalier, such as the production of compact vehicles.
Transferring the turtle's crown to Golf was a vital target to maintain Volkswagen's existence. In the early 1970s, the company entered a serious financial crisis and turtle sales declined sharply. Small cars with water -cooled, front motor and rear -rear cars began to become extremely attractive for users.
The solution came from the Auto Union, which the four German automobile manufacturers (Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer) joined. They attracted the attention of a small number of users with the front -wheel -drive Audi Sedan, which they produced, which was used. Volkswagen acquired the company in Ingolstadt in 1964 from Daimler-Benz. Audi's water -cooled engine and front -wheel drive experts would be indispensable for Volkswagen's new generation.
The front -wheel drive system provided higher performance and wider interiance in small vehicles with low weight. Audi technology used in Golf, Ferdinand Porsche's turtle model built on the rear -wheel drive, engineering advantage to re -gain Volkswagen'e. The golf would have an effective plan that ended upright instead of a normal luggage and an effective plan that was ahead of both the engine and the attraction, and the water -cooled engine would be placed in the forefront. Studies on golf began in December 1968 in 1969, shortly after Kurt Lotz took over Volkswagen.
