Fendt is a German agricultural machinery manufacturer founded in 1930 by Xaver Fendt in Marktoberdorf, Allgäu region, Germany. Fendt manufactures tractors, combines, bales of machines, telescopic loaders and sequential plants. It was acquired in 1997 by AGCO Corporation. Fendt, the craftsman family, follows its history until 350 years ago. The family has become known for producing tower clocks, lead wires and violin in Allgäu. The family was also farming as a side job and traded a small agricultural equipment. Born on August 16, 1868, Johann Georg Fendt took over the business of his father Franz Xaver in 1898 and began the sale and service of Deutz fixed engines and turned into agricultural machines by making a motor -powered grass machine in 1928. Fendt Favorite Produced in the 1960s The first 4.5 kW (6 HP) was built in 1930 under the guidance of Hermann (1911–1995) and Xaver Fendt (1907–1989) under the guidance of their father Johann Georg Fendt (1868–1933). In 1937, the company joined the trade registry. In 1938, Fendt brothers produced Dieselross F 22 up to 16 KW (22 HP), followed by the Dieselross series until 1958 and increased the company's reputation over time. In 1958, a new class tractor series "FF" series was released with favorite, Farmer and Fix types. The design was changed to 60 kW (80 HP) to provide 11 kW (15 HP) engine power. The favorite 1 was trendy in the design and construction of transmission. In 1995, the company launched the Vario class with innovative gearbox (transmission) technology, making it the first major tractor in the world with a gradual continuous variable transmission. Since 1997, Fendt has been operating as a brand of AGCO Corporation and agricultural equipment has reached a global market. In 2016, Fendt produced the 250,000th Vario transmission. In 2018, Fendt had the largest share in the European tractor market. In 2018, Fendt was a market leader in Germany with a share of 24.2 %. Fendt ranked first in the annual image barometer published by DLG and surveyed by German contractors and farmers on agricultural engineering companies. In 2013, it is located with 99.3 out of 100 points. CLIMmar, an organization that publishes an annual dealer satisfaction index for almost all agricultural equipment brands, placed Fendt at least 14.1 of the maximum 15 index in 8 of the last 10-year survey (2011-2021). The company is a member of the VDMA Department of Agricultural Engineering.
