In 1953, a team led by Hermann Klemm began to develop a new model for Ferguson, known as TO35 to replace the To30. In July of that year, Klemm wrote a letter to Harry Ferguson to tell the characteristics of the To35. Ferguson was not satisfied with the project and ordered Klemm to stop working. However, after another letter from Klemm to 23 pages, Ferguson changed his mind and allowed the development to continue. Although Ferguson combined with Massey-Harris in 1953, he created Massey Ferguson, to35 was marketed under the name of Ferguson. The new Ferguson 35 was released in the United States on January 5, 1955 a year before planned, after a decision taken at a conference in San Antonio on March 1954.
Initially present in two models; Standard or Deluxe, the third (assistant program) was added in 1956. Although it was not designed for industrial use, it became popular among industrial users. In May 1956, the color layout was completely changed to a gray beige shell and wheels and a gray body. In December 1957, the to35 standard Massey Ferguson was re -branded in red and gray. However, the article on the tractor continued until February 1960 as "Ferguson". Production ended in late 1964.
