The prototype of the 2K11 Krug Kundağı Motor Aircraft Missile System was created in 1957. However, the set was put into service only in 1964 or 1965 in the Soviet army. Mass production probably started in 1967 and continues to date! The 2k11 Krug set was operated with a single 520HP V-59 engine.

The main task of the 2k11 Krug set was to fight with high and mid -flying targets at relatively long distances, and it is still so. The speed of the missiles on the set is up to Mach 4 and its range up to 55 km. The 2K11 set has been modernized many times since its release. In 1974, a very important modernization took place, which was eliminated by a large part of the technical defects noticed during the operation and significantly increased the war value of the set. The latest version of the set was created in 1994 and called Wiraż. First of all, it is dedicated to foreign buyers. The 2K11 set was run for a very short time during the war in Afghanistan, but due to the nature of the conflict, the last 2K11 batteries withdrew from there in 1981 at the latest. The 2K11 set was mainly exported to Warsaw Pact countries and at the same time North Korea.
