Wheelle armored personnel carrier BTR-70 was developed in the late 1960s and entered the Soviet Army in 1973. The mass production of the vehicle took place in 1973-1984. The vehicle was running with a two carburetor engine with a total of 240 HP power and received 7 landing troops. The crew consisted of two people: Commander and repairman-driver.

The BTR-70 carrier was created as the successor of the BTR-60. The main weapon of the car (14.5 mm machine gun) was still in the rotating turet, which allowed an effective circular fire. However, the BTR-70, ZMZ-4908 type has increased according to its predecessor with much stronger engines and slightly better crew protection. The biggest disadvantage of the BTR-70 was that like his predecessor, the disaster of very small caps for landing troops.
