Northrop T-38 Talon is an American supersonic jet training aircraft. It was the world's first supersonic instructor and the most produced so far. The air force worldwide remains in service as of 2010.
The United States Air Force (USAF) is the largest user. In addition to USAF pilots, the T-38 was used by NASA astronauts in the US and the plane was delivered from USAF to NASA. The US Naval Test Pilot School is the main operator of the US navy (other T-38s, previously used as a USN aggressive aircraft until it was replaced by similar F-5 Tiger II) and some NATO pilots who participated in joint training programs fly.
