Since April 1967, Mazda had a complete S800 Racer with a homologated contest kit which was developed by the factory three times the price of the basic model. The empty weight was reduced to 695 kg, tampons and unnecessary pieces were removed. The vehicle had a fixed hardtop, a roll bar and magnesium alloy wheels. The 818 cm³ engine had a lighter crankshaft and a racing carburetor of a keihin without filter. The power rose 9500 minutes 90 HP (66 kW).
