Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus (German: mouse) was a German super heavy tank prototype from the Second World War. Only two prototypes of the vehicle were probably produced in 1943. However, Maus has never entered mass production. The vehicle was working with a single Daimler-Benz MB509 1,200 horsepower. The vehicle was equipped with a 128 mm kWK 44 L / 55 ball, one 75 mm kWk 44 l / 36.5 ball and one 7.92 mm mg34 machine gun. The design of the new German super heavy tank began in 1942. In the new tank, the project is primarily emphasized by strong weapons that can fight with enemy tanks up to 3,500 meters and emphasizes the same equally strong armor. Ferdinand was Porsche. The first wooden models were ready in 1943 and two prototypes of the vehicle were produced soon. However, at the end of this year, the entire program was canceled and Maus did not enter mass production. During the field tests and test drives conducted in 1943-1945, the tank's great firepower was confirmed, but the biggest disadvantage was the terrible maneuverability in the field, the very low maximum speed in the field (only 13 km/h!) And the high-fault rate of the vehicle caused by the tremendous weight of the vehicle.
