Hobbytime Review

V2 (German: Vergeltungswaffe -2 - Ranitation Weapon No. 2) was a German ballistic missile from the Second World War. The V2 was a single-stage liquid-fuel missile with a range of 320-380 kilometers, with the capacity of a war heading up to 975 kilograms.

The first designs and theoretical assumptions of the vertical launched missile working with the rocket engine were developed in Germany in the mid -1930s. The German Armed Forces began to deal with this idea relatively quickly and began to spend large amounts of money on research. Since 1937, the study has concentrated on the island of USedom near Peenemunde, in a specially created and scratched research center, ruled by Werner von Braun. The first successful V2 launch took place in 1942 and the construction of the missile assembly line began in 1943, but the work on the new weapon was effectively postponed due to the raid on the research centers in Peenemunde in August 1943. The British were directed by the information obtained by the Intelligence Service of the Internal Army. Nevertheless, the first V2s entered the line in the beginning of 1944, but their first battle use did not occur until September 1944. Their main target was to attack British cities, especially London. Between September 1944 and March 1945, approximately 5,500 missiles were fired and approximately 70 %of them hit the target. Of course, the V2 was a revolutionary weapon that had an important and clear impact on the development of ballistic missiles during the Cold War, but it also had many disadvantages: it was actually impossible to direct a V2 missile during the flight and its accuracy was tragically weak. (It could hit a few kilometers away from the target!), it was also difficult to determine the exact range of the rocket. The influence of the Second World War was marginal.

SS-100 Gigant, from the two battles and II. He is a heavy, wheeled German tractor from World War II. The first civil copies of this vehicle appeared in 1936-1937 and mass production was continued in 1937-1950. The vehicle was running with a single D85S engine of 100 horsepower.

The SS-100 Gigant was first developed by Hanomag as a heavy tractor that can carry up to 20 tons of load for the civil market. However, his performance and capabilities quickly attracted the attention of the German Armed Forces, which quickly purchased such vehicles. They were successfully used in transporting very heavy loads and withdrawing Luftwaffe aircraft on the runway. It was also the SS-100 Gigant, which is frequently used to carry V-2 missiles. The demand for such vehicles was so great that during the war, undergraduate production was started at the busing factory in Vienna. After the end of the Second World War, it started its production very quickly and continued until 1950 for the civil market.
