ABOUT:
Cessna 172 began life as a trio -wheeled landing team of Taildragger Cessna 170, which has a basic standard equipment. In January 1955, Cessna flies an improved varieties of Cessna 170, a Cessna 170C, a Cessna 170C working with the Continental O-300-A, a larger elevators and a more angular tail fin.Although the variant was tested and certified, Cessna decided to replace it with a tricycle landing team and Modified Cessna 170C flew again on June 12, 1955. To reduce the certification time and cost, the Model 172 was added to the Cessna 170 type certificate. Later, 172 was given his own type certificate. 172 has achieved sales success in one night and was produced more than 1,400 in 1956, the first full production year. The early 172s appeared to the 170s, the same flat rear body and long ups and long ups leg feet, but 172 had a flat tail, 170 had a round fin and rudder. In 1960, 172a included revised landing sets and the backward -sweeping tail fool, which is still in use today. The last aesthetic development found in 1963 172D and all subsequent 172 models was a downward rear deck that allowed the rear window. Cessna advertised this additional rear view as "Omni-Vision".Production was stopped in the mid -1980s, but in 1996, 160 HP (120 kW) Cessna resumed with 172r Skyhawk. Cessna supported this in 1998 with 180 HP (135 kW) Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP.
