It was built in 1783 as a cargo ship, and in 1787 it was purchased by the royal navy to carry bread and fruit from Tahiti to the Caribbean. The bread fruit had to be given as cheap food for slaves working in sugar cane fields.On December 23, 1787, he departed from England under the captain of Captain William Blight. After a 10 -month journey, he finally came to Tahiti than he planned. As a result of this delay, they had to wait 5 months before sailing to the last destination of the Caribbean. During this journey, a rebellion was directed by Fletcher Christian on board.The rebels then ordered the captain Blight to the launch of the ship with 18 loyal sailors and dragged them. Blight succeeded in reaching the island of Timor after staying at sea for 41 days.
