The Toyota Corolla Levin AE92 was a major competitor in Group A touring car racing, with great success in Japan. Based on the 1987 Corolla Levin AE92, the Group A model was equipped with a 1587cc inline four-cylinder engine and a front-wheel drive configuration. Replacing the previous flagship car, the 86 Levin, the AE92 was the first front-wheel drive car and its performance attracted the attention of fans. Tuned to Group A specifications, the AE92 was entrusted to many teams and competed in the JTC and All Japan Touring Car Championships.
