The Chevrolet Cruze was driven by Yvan Muller, who won the drivers' championship in the 2013 World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). Developed based on the production model released in 2008, the vehicle competed in the WTCC from 2009. It is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo engine and retains the same four-door sedan styling. He demonstrated outstanding performance and won both the drivers' and manufacturers' championships for three consecutive years starting from 2010. The factory team ceased operations in 2012 and the British RML Group, which was involved in car development together with the factory team, took over. During the 2013 season, Muller competed as a special team and won the WTCC championship that year.
