Hobbytime Model Information

Developed by Swedish manufacturer Volvo, the Volvo 240 Turbo was a driving force in Group A touring car racing, thrilling motorsport fans worldwide from the 1980s to the 1990s. Based on the Evolution model, of which 500 were produced in 1983, it was tuned to comply with Group A regulations. Its engine was a turbocharged 2141 cc inline four-cylinder OHC engine producing 340 horsepower. Combined with the lightweight 1,035 kg chassis, it offered excellent driving performance. The vehicle was built in 1984 He began full-scale racing and quickly won the ETCC championship in 1985. In 1985 he also competed in the German national touring car championship DTM, scoring one win and five podium finishes, giving Bar Stresson the driver's championship.

This plastic assembly kit recreates the Group A version of the Volvo 240 Turbo that competed in the German passenger car championship DTM in 1985 and won the drivers' championship. The 1/24 scale model is 200 mm long and 70 mm wide and has been faithfully recreated down to the smallest detail, including the rear wing. The interior should not be overlooked either; Details such as the roll bar and instrument cluster are part of the Spartan Group A specification equipment. The lower part of the chassis is also richly engraved with details such as the front and rear suspension, exhaust and floor panel. The markings reproduce the markings of the vehicle driven by Per Streason, who competed in the 1985 DTM and won the Drivers' Championship.
