The car was introduced on September 9, 2014 and officially introduced to the public at the Paris Motor Show on October 2014. After SLS AMG, Mercedes-AMG is the second sports car developed entirely within its own structure. While Mercedes-AMG GT was on sale in March 2015 in two variants (GT and GT S), the car's GT3 racing variant was introduced in 2015.
