Golf, the first generation of Volkswagen Golf, started to be produced in 1974. Volkswagen Rabbit and Volkswagen Caribe in Latin America from 1975 to 1984 in the USA and Canada. In May 1974, Volkswagen introduced the first generation Golf as the successor of the turtle model. Like his predecessor and ancestor, the Golf MK1 proved that he would be permanent and populated.
