The Mil Mi-2 was a moderate, multi-rolled helicopter designed by the Miller Design Office and produced in świdnik. In a classic arrangement with a queue rotor on a main rotor and beam, the machine had a fixed sub -team, a completely metal, half shell structure. The drive was provided with two GTD-350 engines, each with different versions of 400-450 HP. The first prototype flight took place in September 1961 and mass production lasted from 1965 to 1985. It is estimated that about 5,500 copies of this popular helicopter are produced! It is worth noting that the Polish facilities in świdnik have purchased only the documents of the Mi-2 prototype machine from the milestone facilities and that they are responsible for the success of mass production and the development of such production documents. Various upgrades were made in the basic version. The first was the Mi-2T version: it had a slightly higher lifting capacity and an electric crane. In 1968, the Mi-2R, a agricultural version for large-scale spraying, was developed. In 1972, the Mi-2SR version, that is, the medical recovery version was created. Mi-2, which is quite successful, was exported to Peru and Mexico as well as the Warsaw Pact countries. In the war in Afghanistan (1979-1989) and in 1986, he took part in the fight against Chernobyl disaster.
