Hobbytime Review
Messerschmitt ME-262A Schwalbe (German: Swallow) is a German double-engine hunter-bombardian aircraft with metal structure in low-wing configuration. ME-262 was the first war jet in the history of aviation. The first flight with piston engines took place in 1941 and on July 18, 1942 with Turbojet engines. The first design of the aircraft body, called p.1065, was presented in 1939 and surprisingly different from the latest version. It was quickly decided to use the oblique wings and tested the aircraft body during the flight with piston motors (JUMO210), which was successfully completed in 1941. As a result of the problems experienced in the target power unit (BMW003 motor), the first jet flight in ME took place. -262 Junkers Jumo004 engines. Interestingly, ME-262 was structurally ready for mass production at the end of 1942. Only even the entrance was significantly delayed. First, the deficiencies of materials that require technological changes (especially Tungsten and chrome deficiencies), the second is the failure of BMW003 engines, and the third is the resistance of Hitler to be a fighter aircraft, not a fighter aircraft, but a rapid bombardment plane. . As a result of all factors, he was able to enter the aircraft line in 1944! Given the overwhelming advantage of the Allies in the air, the fuel and educated crew of ME-262 could not have a great impact on the course of the war. Undoubtedly, it was technologically superior to enemy aircraft and the loss rate was 1: 9 in favor of ME-262. A total of approximately 1,400 machines were produced, but only 300 were put into service. Various development versions of this revolutionary aircraft were created: a bombardment aircraft (A-2A), Discovery (A-1A / U3 and A-4A), Daytime Warrior (A-1A) and Night Warrior (B-1a / U1). Technical Data (Version ME -262A -1A): Length: 10.6 m, wing openness: 12.6 m, height: 3,5 m, maximum speed: 900 km/h, climbing speed: 20 m/s, maximum range: 1050 km, ceiling maximum 11450 m, armament: 4 pieces of 30 mm mm MK108 ball, hanging Caliber, up to 1000 kg bomb.
