Piper L4 (Piper CUB) is an American light shipping and observation aircraft in high -wing configuration, with a fixed landing set and a classic -tailed mixed structure from the Second World War. The roots of L4 were firstly taking off in September 1930 and produced in the 1930s and a large number of development versions (J-2, J-3 or J-5). In 1941, the J-3 version was adapted according to the needs of USAF and called the O-59 and finally L4. The first one was L4A and a number of development versions were created better for the observation of the battlefield by increasing the cabin glass. Many engines, including Continental A-65-8, were used as a driver. The machine was widely used as a basic contact and war area observation aircraft by the US army in Europe. It was used both in North Africa and later in Italy and Normandy. The machine was called Grasshopper. Approximately 20,000 units of all versions of this aircraft have been produced!
