Hobbytime Review
Supermarine Spitfire - A one -man British hunter built in the Supermarine factory in Southampton, England. The Poles also fought, II. One of the most famous fighter aircraft used during World War II.
In late 1940, the pilots using the MK II version began to encounter a new version of the MESSERSCHMITT BF 109F, which is superior to the MK II version in all respects, including high altitude performance. Since the GRiffon Motor Motor MK IV version was not ready for production due to engine problems, the MK III version was decided to seek a temporary solution because the Merlin XX motor supply was not ready for production. . During this time, Rolls-Royce developed another version of Merlin 45 engine that can easily be installed on MK I or II aircraft trunks. Thus, it was decided to do so, and in January 1941, the motor bed structure of the MK II aircraft body was strengthened and a Merlin motor with a departure power of 1,440 HP was installed (then the Merlin 46, 50 and 50a versions)). This engine had a new single -stage compressor that improves the performance of the machine at high altitudes. The new engine allowed higher maximum speed and climbing rate. As in the previous versions, a metal coating of the fools was added instead of the canvas that reduced the forces to control the machine.
Thanks to these changes, it was revealed that the aircraft was at least equal to the new version of the BF 109F and has a comparable performance with the MK III version. In March 1941, it was decided to start mass production of such a modified machine. Initially, two types of wings were used to be installed by different weapons, so two sub -versions were created: MK VA (Type A Wing) - 8 km 7.7 mm caliber and MK (Type B Wing) - 2 20 mm and 4 km 7.7 mm. As of October 1941, a completely new C -type wing (initially developed for MK III version) was used in the destruction of the VC, where the main pole was strengthened and moved forward 2 inches (5.08 cm). Various types of weapons can be used in this type: 4 pieces of 20 mm balls or type A or B weapon combinations. In practice, 2 20 mm balls were used, but 120 reserves and a 4 km spare ball were used for each ball. 350 reserves per km. Moreover, under each wing of 113 kg of bombs can be hanged. A total of 6,478 machines were produced (from the spring of 1941), 94 of this version, VA, 3,923, etc. and 2,447 VC (from the spring of 1941). In some machines, the carburetor at the air intake of the nasal filters by attaching filters to the work of the machines under the desert conditions (North Africa), but the performance of the machine caused the decrease.
