About Milliput

In 1968, Jack and Lena Rickman founded The Milliput Company to produce a two -piece epoxy paste for industry and DIY markets. The standard (yellow/gray) Milliput is the first quality that can be obtained when a hard surface is mixed and then sanded, punctured, dreamed, molded, turning, and painting.
In 1970, the world -wide modelmakers began to adopt the standard (yellow/gray) Milliput for filling gaps in metal models, transforming stock figurines, carrying out buildings and natural basic works and production of main models for commercial purposes. Both amateurs and professionals began to rely on Milliput for the production of extremely detailed and refined miniatures.
In 1979, Lena and Jack move The Milliput Company to larger facilities in Mid Wales, Dolgellau, allowing the product to be further developed. Porcelain restorers, which used Milliput in 1982, demanded a white paste that is more suitable for their needs than the Standard (Yellow/Gray) class that launched the company. Silver Gray Milliput was formulated and a small market research revealed that military modelists also like the new color. However, there was pressure for a 'pure white' paste, and in 1983 he watched the super -white Milliput, which was instantly popular for restorers, and once again achieved another great success for the company. The demand for other colors continued and in 1992 cooked soil containers, pottery, brick work, quarry tiles and so on. Terracotta Milliput was introduced for repair.
In 1991, the Milliput Company received official appreciation of its efforts with a prestigious 'Rural Entrance Award' by the Rural Wales Development Board.
Jack and Lena retired from work and transferred the company's management to their sons Eddie and his wife Jane, and successfully protected the company's 'family' stamp for the future. His sons Stephen joined the job in 2006.
