The first generation transit or the transit mark in the UK was taken directly from Thames 400E and introduced in October 1965. This generation has had the longest production time of any transit to date, remained largely unchanged until 12 years until the major makeup in 1978, and the total production lasted for more than 20 years and finally replaced in 1986 with a completely new and6 platform.
Minibus was initially produced at Ford's Langley facility in Berkshire, Berkshire (Hawker Hurricane Hurricane Hunter Aircraft Aircraft Factory), but the demand left the capacity of the facility behind and moved to Southampton until the production was closed in 2013. Izmit of the factory, Türkiye.
Transits were also produced in Ford's Genk factory in Belgium and Türkiye. From mid -1970s to the end of 1981, transit transitions were produced in Amsterdam for the local market.
