Hobbytime Review
General-Dynamics F16 Falcon is an American single-motor, multi-purpose light hunter and stormtrooper aircraft. Studies on the F-16 project began in 1971 at General Dynamics (part of the Lockheed Martin giant in 1993) and participated in the light multi-purpose hunter (LWF) competition for the US Air Force. The YF-16 prototype made its first flight on February 2, 1974. A technical breakthrough was the use of a computerized electric Fly-BY-Wire control system, which made it possible to reduce the area of the wings and tail and thus reduce the weight of the entire aircraft. The F-16 was the first hunter plane to use such a system in the world. The first versions were largely made of aluminum alloys (approximately 83 %of the total structure), but over time they made room for composites. Different versions of F-16 are operated with three engine versions: Pratt-Whitney F-100-PW-200, General Electric F110-GE100 and Pratt-Whitney F-100-PW-2020. The "brain" of the guidance system was the APG-66 radar, which was later replaced by the APG-68 (V) radar. It is worth noting that the YF-16 design is so successful that it not only won the LWF competition in the USA (in competition with the Northrop YF-17 plane) in the USA, but also won the hundredth year contract for a multi-purpose hunter aircraft for European NATO countries. Their rivals were Dassault Mirage F.1 and Saab J-37 Viggen machines. F-16's mass production began in 1975. In addition, European NATO countries, in which new aviation technologies are injection, participated. The latest assembly was held in the USA, Belgium and the Netherlands. The first series F-16a Fighting Falcon was blown on 7 August 1978. This is an attack version designed to resist the land targets of F-16 as a priority. The F-16 proved himself in the battle with a series of victory in the war in Lebanon (1982) and the Desert Storm Operation (1991). Until the end of the 20th century, it was produced more than 4,000 from this successful aircraft. The F-16 had six basic versions marked as A, C, E (Single) and B, D, F (for two). On the basis of these six models, a large number of upgrades, which are often associated with the change of avionics, which are often marked as "blocks", were created. F-16 has been serving in Poland aviation since 2006. The Polish Ministry of Defense decided that the F-16 would be the backbone of the modernized air force, and rejected the proposals of DESSAULT and SAAB, but in this case they were Mirrage F2000 and Jas-39 Grippen hunter planes. Undoubtedly, the American company's highest is the highest that it proposes as part of the so -called offset transaction. Technical data: Maximum speed: 2.170 km / h, climbing speed: 254 m / s, maximum ceiling 15.240 m, maximum range: 3.890 km, armament: fixed - one 20 mm -barreled M61a -1 ball, hanging - 9.275 kg.
