BR50 locomotive model Features

About

DRB Class 50 is a German class with 2-10-0 locomotives built in 1939 as a standard locomotive (Einheitsdampflochomotive) for the transport of freight trains. It had a leading Aksa and five acups axles and was one of the most successful designs produced for Deutsche Reichsbahn.

This class was purchased as part of the German Nazi party's preparations for war that led to the Second World War. Until 1948, 3,164 class 50 engines were produced by almost all European locomotive factories - as the so -called temporary war locomotives (Übergangrixlochomotoven) and classified as 50.

At the end of the steam locomotive period, thanks to their low axle loads, they became a almost universal steam engine class with light rail beds, which can be used even on light rail beds. Deutsche Bundesbahn grouped the locomotives as 050, 051, 052 and 053 classes from 1968, so that the numbers were compatible.

Part of the class was used by Polish State Railways as TY5 type.
