About HPI

It all started in 1986: Tatsuro Watanabe founded Hobby Products International in South California, the world's largest center for RC (Radio Control) models and products, with a small investment and a lot of hard work. The first product range included car accessories such as graphite pieces, land and road vehicles and engines for existing racing cars. UNO engines even won the title of a World Championship in 1987 and proved that the company has the ability to compete with the best companies in the world! This early success allowed HPI to rapidly enlarge the product range and launch the first Super F1, the first vehicle kit designed by the HPI.

More sales success has led HPI to significantly increased the size of the design team, and soon more kit and options emerged. From here, things have progressed rapidly, and HPI's focus was rapidly shifting to being one of the most productive RC companies in the world from being an accessory company. One of the initial electric vehicle kits, HPI product range Nitro RS4, RC, which works with fuel, land with RS4 MT, small -scale RC with Micro RS4, and finally the legendary Savage Monster Truck and Baja 1/5 scale buggy and larger kits such as truck series vehicles expanded. Along the way, HPI cars and trucks won praise and prizes from RC media and fans, web pages and fan groups helped to spread information about HPI Racing.

HPI automobile designs were used as the basis of the HB brand, which is pure racing cars, and this led to the brand's first world championship victory in the ISTC Road Racing category in 2006. In the field race, the D8 Buggy won the first world championship in 2008 and has seen many other land championship victory, including more commitment to developing a race, a large number of US National Victory and 2 Buggy World Championship victory.
