Leichter Panzerspähwagen was a series of light four -wheel drive armored vehicles produced by Nazi Germany from 1935 to 1944. He used the standard CMKW I Horch 801 chassis with an angled armored body and turquoise. The rear -mounted engine was 67 kW (90 HP) Horch 3.5 gasoline engine and provided it a 80 km/h road speed and 40 km/h land speed. It had a maximum range of 300 km. This type used by the reconnaissance battalions of the Panzer divisions (Aufklärungs-Abdeilung) performed well enough in countries with good road networks such as Western Europe. However, in the Eastern Front and North Africa, the vehicles in this class were interrupted due to relatively weak land performance. In these theaters, the role of discovery gradually was replaced by SDKFZ 250 semi -pallet vehicle.

SD.KFZ 221/222/223 were German light armored vehicles from the Second World War. The first prototypes of the vehicle were created in 1935 and mass production continued during the 1935-1944 period and ended with the production of approximately 2,150 vehicles. SD.KFZ 221/222/223 car series was strengthened with 80-90 HP Horch V8 engine. The armament was: a single 7.92 mm mg34 machine gun (SD.KFZ 221) or 20 mm KWK 30 balls and the MG34 machine gun paired with it (SD.KFZ 222). SD.KFZ 221/222/223 series vehicles were created as basic discovery and discovery tools of Wehrmacht, especially mechanized and armored units. All vehicles had weak armor up to 8-14.5 mm, but very good land features and high mobility. After 1941, it increased the Horch 8V engine, which increased its power from 80 HP to 90 HP. The SD.KFZ 221 vehicle had a two -person crew and was armed with only a rotating machine rifle. It was modernized shortly later - as the main weapon, SD.KFZ 222, which already has a KWK 30 ball and a crew of three people, and the armor at the front of the vehicle (8 mm to 14.5 mm). The latest version was SD.KFZ 223, a radio communication tool equipped with a single MG34 machine gun. SD.KFZ 221/222/223 vehicles served on almost all fronts of World War II and played an intensive role in military operations between 1939-1943.
