It was a French light infantry tank from the Second World War. Designed from 1933 to production in 1936, the vehicle was used as a light infantry support tank, equipped with separate tank battalions and then appointed to infantry divisions to assist them in their attacks. For this purpose, it has a relatively good armor, but it deprived the tank capability due to the use of 37 mm balls with a slow and short -barreled 37 mm. After the beginning of the war, in response to the lack of anti -tank abilities, a more powerful long -barreled artillery called Renault R40 was established as of April 1940. This new tank was arranged to be produced in a new factory after the beginning of the war. Until 1940, approximately 1685 vehicles were produced. R35/40 was the main equipment of the French army during the French campaign. R35 is also partially exported to countries such as Poland, Romania, Türkiye and Yugoslavia. During the war, Germany and his servants turned some of the seized R35s into tank hunters.
