Lime green was the last "solid" color created for Braniff by design agency Harperreen and was introduced in September 1967. While only one BAC 1-11, DC-8 and Boeing 707 had this bright and friendly color, six Boeing 727s had this color. These included the tri-engine aircraft registered N300BN, which was the original of this limited edition 1/500 scale model. The aircraft was delivered to Braniff in 1969 and remained in the Texan airline's fleet until 1982.
