Hobbytime Model Information
McDonnell-Douglas / UAE AV-8B Harrier II is a single, V / Stol Avcı-Saldırı aircraft with a half-shelled, duralumin structure. The roots of the Harrier II aircraft are based on 1973, when McDonnell-Douglas and UAE collaborated to create a new, significant developed Harrier. The buyers would be the US Marine Corps and the British shelf and royal navy. However, in 1975, due to the high cost of a new engine for Harrier (Pegasus 15), the British government and therefore the UAE were withdrawn from cooperation. As a result, only McDonnell-Douglas in the "battlefield" remained concern. Taking into account the costs, the American brand decided to make a comprehensive modification of Harrier using new Avionics, a different wing and large -scale composites. Yav-8B, the first prototype, took off in 1978. In 1980, the British side decided to participate in the project again. The first AV-8B, which was built from scratch, flew in 1981 and entered the production line in 1983. US Marine Post Units use AV-8B, T AV-8B, AV-8B (NA) and AV-8B + versions. The first of these is the main version of the aircraft serving as a hunter-saldırı aircraft. It has more lifting capacity and range than the AV-8A, it also has more maneuverability and has a more modern avionics and engine. Secondly, it was put into service by Italy and Spain and is used on aircraft carriers of these countries. Shelf, gr.5, gr.5a, gr.7, gr.7a, gr.9, gr.9a and t.10, t.11 and t.12 versions. The aircraft marked as Gr are hunter-relief versions, and T are two-person training machines. AV8B / Harrier II participated in the Desert Storm Operation (1991) and Iraq (2003) and Afghanistan (2006-2008).
