Euro Lancaster, II. World War Great British Heavy-Bombardian plane. It was also used by the British Society of Nations. Together with Handley-Page Califax, it was the main bombardment of the Royal Air Force. In general, it was used in night-bombarding tasks. By the end of the war, 7,366 Lancesters were produced. The Lancaster, who took part in 156,000 operations between 1942 and 1945, left approximately 608,612 tons of bombs and lost in 3,249. Only 35 Lancaster has managed to work more than 100 tasks, the longest life of them completed 139 tasks. This plane was scrapped in 1947.

The greatest success of the Lancesters is the Chastise operation in the Ruhr valley. The aim of this operation was to destroy the German hydro electronic power plants and to interrupt the German industry. In the operation, barrel -shaped bombs designed by Branes Wallis were used. Because of their achievements in this task, they were named after Dambusters.
