The Aichi B7A is a single-engine, internally torpedoing and dive bombing Japanese aircraft with an inverted gullwing low-wing design (similar to the Ju-87 Stuka). II. It has a metal structure dating back to the end of World War II. In 1941, Imperial Japanese naval aviation imposed very high technical requirements for a deck bomber to replace the Nakajima B6N bombers and Yokosuka D4Y dive bombers. The new aircraft would operate from Taiho-class aircraft carriers. Aichi's answer was the AM-23 project. In May 1942, the first of nine B7A1 prototypes took off. However, construction work was repeatedly delayed due to problems with the Nakajima NK9C Homare 12 engine. As a result, the aircraft entered mass production only in April 1944 as the B7A2. The machine was very good and easy to use and had excellent performance. Although production was planned at three factories, only two started mass production and only 105 aircraft were produced (Aichi factory 80, Naval Armament Factory 25). Since the Japanese navy did not have an available aircraft carrier at that time, aircraft had to operate from land-based airfields. Technical data: length: 11.49 m, wingspan: 14.4 m, altitude: 4.07 m, maximum speed: 567 km/h, rate of climb: 9.6 m/s, maximum range: 3038 km, maximum ceiling height: 11250 m, armament: fixed 2 20 mm caliber Type 99 cannons, 1 7.92 mm caliber Type 13 machine gun, A torpedo weighing 800 kg or the same amount of bomb load.
