The Lancia Stratos (alias: Stratos HF) is an Italian sports and rally car that was first introduced to the public as a concept vehicle at the Turin Motor Show in 1970. Series production took place in Turin from 1972 to 1974. During this period, approximately 500 vehicles of this model were produced, including prototypes.

The Stratos model was designed by Marcello Gandini, who worked at the Bertone design office in the early 1970s. Shortly after, in 1971, the Ferrari-powered Stratos HF appeared. Then the Lancia company took an interest in the vehicle and undertook short series production and was instrumental in obtaining approval for the Stratos to participate in rallies. The car was very successful in rallies and won the World Rally Championship three consecutive times (1974, 1975 and 1976)! The main reasons for its success were an excellent drive unit, very good traction characteristics and a robust and durable chassis and body structure. The carefully designed suspension also made a difference.
