The Toyota MR2 (also name: Toyota MR-S) is a Japanese sports passenger car that was offered to the public as a concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1983. The mass production began a year later (1984) and lasted until 2007. Mainly concentrated in factories in Sagamihara, Japan.

The MR2 model was developed to expand Toyota's commercial offer and increase its share in the sports car segment and have been introduced into production. When designing MR2, a lot of emphasis was made to the lowest possible aerodynamic friction, the attractive design with retracted headlamps that were fashionable in the 1980s, the lowest possible operating costs and low fuel consumption.
