Lancia Stratos (also name: Stratos HF) is an Italian sports and rally car introduced to the public as a concept vehicle at the Turin Motor Show in 1970. The mass production lasted from 1972 to 1974 and was realized in Turin, Italy. Approximately 500 cars were produced from this model with prototypes. The Stratos model was designed by Marcello Gandini, who worked in the Bertone design office in the early 1970s. Shortly after, in 1971, Ferrari Motorized Stratos HF appeared. Later, the Lancia company became interested in the vehicle, went into short mass production, and it was effective in receiving approval for Stratos to join the rally. Vehicle was very successful in rally and won the World Rally Championship three times in a row (in 1974, 1975 and 1976)! Its success was first determined by a great drive unit, very good traction features and robust and durable structure of the chassis and body. The suspension, which was carefully built, also made a difference.
