About USS North Carol
USS North Carolina was a 74 armed ship of the United States Navy. Authorized by the Congress on April 29, 1816, "one of the nine ships, each of which is not less than 74 weapons", was launched by Philadelphia Navy Yard in 1818, launched on September 7, 1820 and equipped Norfolk Navy Yard. Master Commander Charles W. Morgan was appointed as his first commander to North Carolina on June 24, 1824. Supposed
74 Armed, while at that time, was a popular ship, North Carolina was actually drilled for 102 weapons (weapons ports), and probably originally ninety four 42 libs (19 kg) and 32 libs (15 kg). In 1845, a total of fifty -six 42 libs (19 kg), twenty -six 32 libs (15 kg) and eight 8 inches (200 mm) had a total of 90 balls.
North Carolina, who was considered the most powerful sea ship by many people at that time, served as the flagship of Admiral John Rodgers in the Mediterranean between 29 April 1825 and 18 May 1827. In the early days of the Republic, as it is today, a navy show increased the prestige of nation and improved its trade.
This was the Rodgers fleet, which prepared the basis of the 1830 trade agreement with Türkiye's opening of the Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea ports to American traders.
After a usual period in Norfolk, North Carolina was excluded on 30 October 1836 to adapt to the Pacific Fleet, another area where gigantic ships could be used. At that time, only the west coast of the Mediterranean and South America offered ports that could host large draft ships. Again, the flagship of the station, Commodore Henry E. Ballard's flams of North Carolina, May 26, 1837 Callao, Peru reached Peru. Carolina maintained its major American trade in the Eastern Pacific until March 1839. In June, New York Navy Yard returned to Navy Yard, as his large size made him less flexible than small ships.
