The original copy of the fire station 1 in Nuremberg, which was built in 1902 and is still operating today. This structure, which was once planned for equestrian emergency vehicles, fulfills the duties of a firefighter world that still requires high engineering. Old horse stables were transformed into car parking spaces. At that time, the high wooden skeleton tower was used as a hose drying room. The team's dormitories, clothing and equipment room, kitchen, dining room, toilets and bathrooms were located on the vehicle shelter. There was even a infirmary for horses. Today, 24 out of approximately 100 firefighters are always on duty or telecommunication, first aid and radiation and measurement and test engineering specialty department, fire extinguishing repair workshop, carpenter workshop, assembly workshop and clothing room. Firefighters 1 is the oldest of the 5 fire stations belonging to Nuremberg Municipal Fire Brigade.
