About

The Panther tank, which was put into service in the German army in 1943, is originally referred to as Panzerkampfwagen V or SDKFZ 171. It is a 45 -ton middle class tank designed and produced by Man. Equipped with KWK42 L/70 balls, Panther was particularly influential against the Russian JS-1 and JS-2 or American M-26 tanks. The tank, which is referred to as unrivaled, is remembered by the best tanks in the Second World War.

Panther, also known for being the first mass production in which the sloping armor project, which was first attempted by the Germans in 1935, was adapted to the German tank, was particularly superior to its rivals by filling the gap created by Panzer III and Panzer IV tanks with this armor technique applied especially in the T-34 series tanks.

Three different types of panther tanks were produced in different facades and dates with A/D/G models.

Panther, who appeared during the Kursk War, first participated in the war with the version D. Thanks to the long -range ball, the Soviet tanks were superior in a short time and made them feel their effectiveness.

As the war progressed, the production of the D model has left its place to A and G models and was assigned to other tasks as a platform.

In the German tank system, platforms are also used as the rescue tool of their families. D and A models have assumed Bergepanther duties over time.

The G model is produced as a more dominant and most advanced model towards the end of the war.

There are differences such as semi -automatic shooting system, improved armor metal and angle compared to others.

With the end of the war, some models were taken to England and were examined by the British.

Some Panther were taken to the French Land Forces inventory and used until the end of the 50s.

Today, some tanks from war are exhibited in museums and some tanks are kept alive by various animation groups.
