About

Berge Tiger I

Bergetir is a II. World War II was the name he gave to the armored tracked vehicle. The vehicle was found abandoned on a roadside with terminal engine problems in Italy. The main weapon was removed and the Tarete crane was installed. In this way, no other Tiger tank has been recovered.

When the vehicle was found, it was assumed that the vehicle was designed as a tank recovery tool. The Germans used the "Berge" prefix to indicate the rescue tool versions of tanks such as "Bergepanther" and "Bergepanzer". Thus, the Allies performed the vehicle they found "Bergetir". No official German name was found for this vehicle.

The role of Bergetir's rescue tool has been discussed since its discovery. Usually evidence that it is a recovery tool is that the crane is not designed to attract the weight of a tank or that it is not equipped with any other common recovery equipment.

Borgward IV

Officially called Schwer Ladungsträger Borgward B IV, Borgward IV was a German remote -controlled destruction tool used in the Second World War.

Borgward's three models were produced; Ausführung A, Ausf. B and AUSF. C. basically differs in armor, weight and radio equipment.

Borgward IV was equipped with a 49 -horsepower 49 -horsepower water -cooled gasoline engine. Ausf. A was produced by about 616 between May 1942 and June 1943.

In June 1943, production was similar to Borgward IV Ausf B. Ausf. B, 400 kg (880 lb) was heavier, radio antenna was moved and better radio equipment was used. Between June and November 1943, 260 of this model were produced.

Last Borgward IV to see production, Ausf. C has seen bigger changes. The chassis was extended 4.1 meters and the weight increased even more. The armor on the Ausf C was thicker than the previous variants, the new palette was used, the driver's seat was moved to the left of the vehicle, and a six -cylinder engine of 78 horsepower was used. Ausf. C was produced from December 1943 to September 1944 and 305 examples were created.

II. Approximately 56 Ausf towards the end of World War II. BS and C's were transformed into Panzergäger Wanze, equipped with six RPZB 54/1 tank rockets. In the last days of the war, these vehicles fought small conflicts against the Soviet armor and saw some actions in the Berlin War.

At least one ausf. B was rebuilt as a tool and equipped with a television camera for a Borgward IV observation in 1943.

Borgward IV production was relatively small, much smaller Goliath's 7,564 compared to 7,564. Borgward IV, like Germany's other remote -controlled destruction vehicles, was not considered a success. It was unreliable and expensive, but could be used many times unlike Goliath and Springer.
