"Brandenburgs" or "Brandenburg Units" (Ger. Brandenburg-Verband), German intelligence is subject to Abwehr, II. It was defined as a German destructive and discovery unit of the World War II. At the beginning of the war, he was a battalion -sized association, but in 1943, he lost his character to the division, and in 1944 to some extent, the Panzer grenade was transformed into a division. Theodor von Hippel is considered the initiator of the "Brandenburgers" uprising. Initially, people who knew a foreign language, medium and higher education were taken to the unit. The main tasks of the "Brandenburgers" were perceived as destructive activities, which were realized behind the enemy lines, to sow panic and confusion, to transport, to irregularity and a long discovery execution. The unit was first used during the September 1939 in Poland, but it was not very successful. After this campaign, the education system was changed and the methods of operations were improved. The Union was quite successful in the operation in France in 1940, in the clashes in the Balkans in 1941 and the first period of the war on the Eastern Front (1941-1942).

The Battle of Leros (German Untehmen Leopard) was held between 26 October - 16 November 1943 and the main activities took place on 12-16 November of the same year. The war took place after Italy signed a ceasefire between the English-Italian troops and the German troops. It is estimated that approximately 11,000-12,000 people on the British-Italian side and about 2,800-3,000 soldiers on the German side. The Battle of the Leros was held during the twelve Islands expedition initiated by the British after a successful extraction to Sicily and the surrender of Italy. Leros Island was an important strategic point in the Aegean Basin. In order to clarify, it is useful to add that the attacking party was Germany during this operation. The operation began with raids relatively large Luftwaffe to the island from 26 October to 11/12 November 1943. On November 12, sea and air extractions were made to the island, which brought Germany a moderate success. On the night of November 12-13, German units currently operating in Leros were supported by more units, and on November 13, German troops managed to repel the repeated British attacks (with major losses). On November 15, the last British counter attack took place, and a day later, the German troops attacked Merovigli north and east. Interestingly, as a result of the successful raid of German special troops, the British commander of the defense of the island Brigadier General Robert Tilney was taken prisoner. As a result, the British and Italian forces on the island surrendered rapidly. The Battle of Leros resulted in the completely defeat of the Allies and led to the seizure of the whole of the twelve Island by German troops.
