II. During World War II, Germany used a wide variety of half-track vehicles. One of the lighter types, the Sd.Kfz.10 was designed as a tractor for small, towed anti-tank or anti-aircraft guns. This Demag-designed vehicle, 4.5 meters long and weighing 4.9 tons, had the capacity to carry 1 ton or eight soldiers. Power was provided by a Maybach 6-cylinder engine connected to a transmission with seven forward and three reverse gears. What is noteworthy is that this type of half-track vehicle is the only one that uses a body instead of a frame. Demag delivered the first vehicles in 1938, but eventually seven factories were involved in the production of approximately 14,000 examples. One of the weapons it regularly towed was the 5cm PaK38 anti-tank gun, which was first used by German forces on the Eastern Front in 1941 against the formidable threat of the T-34 and KV-1. The gun remained in service for the remainder of the war.

This 1/35 scale Dragon kit does not include new molded parts. Instead, what sets it apart from the rest is the perfect and practical combination combining a magnificent Sd.Kfz.10 Ausf.A half-track with Dragon's legendary 5cm PaK38 anti-tank gun. Essentially, two complete kits in one box! As with previous versions, the half-track vehicle features a complete interior structure as well as internal components such as the engine and transmission. Another attractive point is that the PaK38 gun comes with an extra third wheel; This allows the cannon to be shown in a scene where the crew places the cannon in place. This is a fantastic little half-track that packs some serious firepower and is certainly a versatile and useful addition to Dragon's Sd.Kfz.10 family.
