About
The Division was one of the three original tank divisions founded by Germany in 1935.
Pre -war Austria and Czechoslovakia occupations and Poland in 1939, Belgium and France in 1940 took part in the occupations.
From 1941 to 1945, he fought on the Eastern Front except for a period in 1943, when he was sent to France and Greece, in rehabilitation.
At the end of the war, the division surrendered to the US forces in Bavaria.
