About
The Boeing X-37, also known as the Orbital Test Tool (OTV), is a reusable robot spacecraft. After going into space with a launch tool, he flys into the world atmosphere and enters and lands. The X-37 is operated for orbit space flight tasks, which aims to reuse space technologies by the United States Space Forces. It is a derivative of the previous Boeing X-40. The X-37 was launched in 1999 as the NASA project in 2004 before it was transferred to the US Department of Defense.
The X-37 first flew during a free fall test in 2006. The first task of orbit was launched on an Atlas V rocket in April 2010 and returned to Earth in December 2010. Subsequent flights gradually extended the term of office, reached 780 days in orbit for the fifth task. The last sixth task was launched at Atlas V on 17 May 2020.
