Heinkel HE-219 UHU (German Eagle Owl) is a dual-engine hunter plane with a metal structure with a pressure cabin of the Second World War. Initially, Heinkel Flugzeugwerke designed HE-219 as a long-range reconnaissance aircraft, but the machine was redesigned as a night hunter plane because of the intervention of General Josef Kammhuber. This fact was dictated by increasingly effective air strikes of allied bombing planes against Germany. The prototype's flight took place on November 15, 1942 and seized the "war spur spur" on the night of 11-12 June 1943. From the very beginning, the aircraft was equipped with the FUG 212 Liechtenstein C-1 aircraft radar and then with the FUG 220 sec-2 version. The aircraft was extremely successful, including many air victory. However, in 1944, production was stopped in favor of Ju-88G and designed Do-335. In general, approximately 300 aircraft of this type were produced at the facility at Schwecht. Interestingly, the aircraft used the "Schräge Music" system - an installation of firing balls or machine guns, allowing a bombardment aircraft to be shot from below. Technical Data (Version HE-219a-7): Length: 15.5 m, wing opening: 18.5 m, height: 4.4 m, maximum speed: 616 km / h, maximum range: 1540 km, maximum ceiling 9300 m, armament: fixed-6 20 mm mg151 ball, "Schräge Musik" order 30 mm108 ball.
