About
The United States Army Special Forces, known as green berets in the folk language due to its unique service hats, is a special operational force designed to fulfill and carry out nine doctrinal tasks of the United States Army.
Non -traditional war, foreign internal defense, direct action, anti -rebellion, special discovery, fight against terrorism, information operations, arms of mass destruction weapons and security forces through seven geographical -oriented groups.
The first two emphasize the language, cultural and educational skills in working with foreign unions.
Other tasks include war search and rescue (CSAR), Narcotics fighting, hostage rescue, humanitarian aid, humanitarianization, information operations, peace protection, psychological operations and human hunting.
Other components of the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) or other government activities in the United States may also specialize in these secondary areas.
Most of the operational techniques are classified, but there are some non -fictional studies and doctrinal handbooks.
Founded on 9 April 1987, the unit is still active.
Green Beret units have also been the subject of various film and computer games.
