HMS Warrior is a steamful armored frigate built in 1859-1861 for the royal navy.
It is the first example of armored warships.
HMS Warrior and his sister HMS Black Prience were the first armored, iron -bodied warships, and was built in response to the launch of the wooden body Gloire, the first armored warship of France to the first ocean.
In 1863, Warrior organized a Great British promotional tour and spent his active career with a channel fleet.
Following the launch of HMS Devastation in 1871, Oldish was placed in reserves in 1875.
He then served as a warehouse and warehouse ship, and in 1904 he was appointed to the Torpido Education School of the Royal Navy.
The ship was transformed into an oil scaffold in 1927 and remained in this role until 1979, and at this point, the navy was donated to the sea trust for restoration.
The restoration process lasted eight years, while many features and equipment were restored or rebuilt.
When this finished, he returned to Portsmouth as a museum ship.
