This allowed them to fight any ally or Soviet in 1942 and 1943. The most frequently produced versions of PZKPFW IV were versions G, H and J, which were very similar to F1 and F2 versions. The main arming has not changed significantly (still KWK 40 balls), engine and chassis. On the other hand, the armor was a little strengthened and from the beginning of 1943, armored shields (Schurzen) were placed on them.
