The beginning of the development of German swap motor artillery can be considered as the mid -1930s when the concept of creation was put forward in order to support the German infantry's attack activities (German: Sturmgeschütz - Stug). Often, the author of this idea is thought to be the next Marshal Erich von Manstein. The first prototypes of such vehicles were created in 1937, and when they entered mass production, they called Stug III. They were first used during the French operation in 1940. During this operation, bison balls (sometimes referred to as sturmPanzer) were also used, ie 150 mm SIG balls mounted on the Panzer I chassis. II. In the later part of World War II, the German army introduced a large scale of more and more perfectly. Armored and mechanized troops were equipped with tools such as Wespe or very successful Hummel, which has made a significant increase in the mobility of the artillery of these troops. Stug III cars were also developed and Stug IV car was produced. At the end of the war, a small number of Sturmtiger vehicles equipped with a 380 mm rocket mortar. SD.KFZ 164 Nashorn (German reality) was produced in 1942 as a remedy against the threat of a tank hunter and the German Soviet Panzerwaffe T-34. It was especially seen as a temporary solution, especially considering the deadly armor and the very long silhouette of the vehicle. However, until the end of the war, he served both in the East and in Italy and the Western Front. The main reason for these disadvantages was the highly effective 88 mm PAK43 / L71 tank ball ball. He could neutralize any ally or Soviet tank (maybe except IS-2) from 2000-2500 m distance and destroy an enemy tank from 4600 m from 4600 m according to unofficial records! The number of Hornisse vehicles produced worldwide was limited to 494 units and mostly concentrated on Alkett facilities. During the war, vehicles were equipped with Schwere Panzergager Abteilung 560, 655, 525, 93, 519 and 88.
