Stug III (Sturmgeschutz III) was a German armored ball from the Second World War. The first prototypes of the vehicle were produced in 1937 and mass production continued between 1940-1945 and ended with about 10,300 production. The Stug III in the E version was equipped with a single Maybach HL 120 trm engine of 300 horsepower. At the beginning of 1942, Stug III, a long -barreled 75 mm stuk 40 L/48 ball was attached to a real modification to turn into a real tank hunter. The name of the vehicle was changed to Stug 40. During the 1940-1945 period, Stug III served on almost all fronts where the German army fought. It turned out that it was a very useful, cheap production and most importantly effective weapon. Different versions of Stug are estimated to be responsible for the destruction of about 20,000 Soviet tanks and armored vehicles between 1941-1945.
