Hobbytime Model Information

Stug III (Sturmgeschutz III) was a German armored ball from the Second World War. The first prototypes of the vehicle were produced in 1937 and mass production continued between 1940-1945 and ended with about 10,300 production. The Stug III in the E version was equipped with a single Maybach HL 120 trm engine of 300 horsepower. (E Version E) A 75 mm short -barreled ball and 1 7.92 mm caliber MG34 machine gun was equipped with a rifle.

In a letter to General Beck in 1935, Stug III was created as a result of the initiative of Erich von Manstein, which pointed out the need to create an offensive for the raising infantry in the mechanized troops of Wehrmacht. As a result, a new vehicle design order was given to Daimler-Benz and Daimler-Benz de PZKPFW III Ausf. He used the chassis of B. During mass production, several versions of the Stug III ball were produced. The first chronologically, equipped with 75 mm stuk 37 l/24 ball and PZKPFW III Ausf. It was a version A based on the chassis of F and G tanks and was produced from the beginning of 1940. Soon after, only a slightly different version B was created from version A. In 1941, version D, which has better armor and engagement, entered production. The E version was rapidly developed and was the first version of the MG34 machine rifle form. At the beginning of 1942, Stug III, a long -barreled 75 mm stuk 40 L/48 ball was attached to a real modification to turn into a real tank hunter. The name of the vehicle was changed to Stug 40. During the 1940-1945 period, Stug III served on almost all fronts where the German army fought. It turned out that it was a very useful, cheap production and most importantly effective weapon. Different versions of Stug are estimated to be responsible for the destruction of about 20,000 Soviet tanks and armored vehicles between 1941-1945.
