Jagdpanzer IV (SD.KFZ 162) was a German armored ball and tank hunter during the Second World War. The first prototypes of the vehicle were produced in 1943 and mass production continued between 1944-1945 and resulted in approximately 2,000 production. Jagdpanzer IV was running with a single 300 horsepower Maybach HL 120 trm engine. It was equipped with 1 75 mm PAK 39 or PAK 42 balls and 2 7.92 mm mg42 machine guns.Jagdpanzer IV was created as an addition to the Stug III vehicle, and its chassis, drive and transfer bodies were taken from the PZKPFW IV tank. The new vehicle stands out with its high maneuverability, especially in the front of the body - especially in the front of the body - well -shaped armor, which made it easier to arrange ambush. Three development versions were created during mass production. The first was called Jagdanzer IV L / 48, equipped with 75 mm PAK 39 L / 48 tankswar balls and produced in the Vomag factory. The second and third versions - very similar - Jagdpanzer IV L / 70 (V) and L / 70 (a), 75 mm long -barreled PAK 42 L / 70 balls were equipped. The L / 70 versions were made by Vomag and Alkett, just a bit different. Jagdpanzer IV began to come to calligraphy troops in March 1944. The first battle operations using the new tank hunter were carried out on the Italian front and on the eastern front shortly after. Jagdpanzer IV was extensively used in the Normandy Operation (1944 articles) and the Ardenler Offensive of 1944-1945.
